Default Power Level against user agreement or not?

I've been seeing a lot of ads for power leveling in droks lately and I thought hey thats a nice way to make some extra cash with my monk.
However, with Anet being so keen on the 'ban' button lately, I don't wanna do anything possibly illegal. My question: Is Power Leveling against the user agreement or not? And will Arenanet take steps against it? (supposedly, I know you guys cant know for sure) Thanks in advance

Yeah definately, just as they're taking steps against runners. That includes people that are level 20 and go back to earlier missions to help people through with ease.

I got banned for giving away an item too.

Power lvling has been around for the longest time and Anet has never spoken out against it. I highly doubt it's technically against the UA, if it is then they don't actually care.

I think it's only against the EULA if those services are done for real life currency... If you want to get powerleveled (for in-game gold), it's your own choice, still... same for doing some powerleveling on other people's characters, as long as it's for in-game currency.

Don't be stupid- what if someone, like myself, has already played throught the game, but wants to make a PvE character to use in PvP for additional weapon slots, Armour switching etc? Should they really have to put themselves through an element of the game which they don't enjoy?

LOL sarcasm FTW

PL does no harm to anyone, it is there for those that do not wish to grind to lvl20 everytime they make a new char.

I have used PL services and so has many many ppl in the game..would they ban us all? i think not

I disagree, the money paid to the PLer in most cases would have been earned by some kind of farming/trading..so whats the difference of paying money you have earned and playing through the game? imo there is none.

Im all for ppl having an opinion and sticking to it but i fail to see the logic of grinding through the game when there is others means of doing it.

So basically you want us to take your word for it? Yeah, anyways.

PS it was on topic, as it is one of the reasons people power level.

The Admins Bane: The problem is the pve carebear scrub "THK IS HARD" quagmire it creates when people who haven't grinded through the game before get powered level and have no idea what they're doing/how to play the game, not those who have already done the grind before.

lol if they start banning people for stuff like this i would be AMAZED. In prophs i ran all over the place all the time and was one of the most noted PLers around. so if people were being banned for this stuff, im pretty sure i would have been one of the first. it would be the same thing as them banning people for CRing. its not going to happen.

To the op no you wont get banned unless you pay real life money for it or offer it for real money.

I have only played through the game once in my 16 months of plaing gw. There is only so much ascalon, northern shiverpeaks, jungle grind i can take. The best missions are desert, southern shiverpeaks and fire island hence why I get power lvled.

The forced factions grind is one of the reasons i hate it sooo much. being forced to do that city crap over and over is rediculously boring just like having to do ascalon over and over would be.

I agree that ppl should play through the game properly atleast once just to get the exp ect but at the end of the day it comes down to personal choice.

PL will never be removed so you just have to avoid the ppl that rush their first char hrough without learning the basics.

BTW THK is a great mission...one of the few more interesting tho slightly dragged out missions, easily done with even a semi organized PuG group

A reason why people power lvl has nothing to do with whether or not power lvling is agianst the EULA.

Power lvling is not against the EULA; I have no idea why anyone would even ask; and they need to close this thread already.

Either way, you have a point about this topic being stupid.
